“I see a lot of patients take their last breath, I listen as they share their life stories and memories, and watch as they say goodbye to their loved ones.” – Casey, Palliative Care Nurse, St John of God Health Care
Palliative Care is so much more than just end of life care. Providing holistic and compassionate care is so important, not for only our patients, but for their families as well.
Holistic, person-centred care can help to ease distressing symptoms associated with other treatments. There is also evidence to show that patients receiving high quality Palliative Care have a better quality of life, and may in fact live longer than if they did not receive it.
With your support, we can help to create special moments for families and honour patients in the best possible way, allowing them to go with peace, knowing that they are loved, and their families will cherish the lasting memories.
When someone has a life-limiting illness, the 'little things' become the big things.
A cuddle with a beloved family pet, precious family photographs, watching a stunning sunrise or sunset... your support can help to create treasured moments and bring joy and comfort, creating lasting memories for patients and their loved ones.
We are raising funds in our community, including through fundraising telephone calls and letters, to support families in palliative care.
If you have any questions or concerns about a phone call you have received, please do not hesitate to contact us on 1800 281 288 or [email protected]
