Finally, all of you, be like minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
Each year on the 8 March, we celebrate St John of God Day. Today provides us with a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the remarkable life and legacy of John of God, who devoted his life to caring for people in need, people who were vulnerable, neglected and ignored.
The theme for St John of God Day this year is ‘Connecting through heads, hearts and hands’.
This year’s theme resonates with me, not only because it reflects the legacy of John of God, but because I’ve been fortunate to witness it in action. Our caregivers’ dedication and kindness shines through not just in one aspect of the care they provide for patients and clients, but in every single thing they do.
This connection and compassion is also evident in the kindness of our community. In large part, it is thanks to you that our caregivers have the privilege of carrying forward St John of God’s legacy of care and seeking to help those in need. Through your generosity, we’re able to continue our healing mission, now and into the future.
Today and every day, we are so grateful for your support and commitment.
Yours in gratitude,
Bianca Pietralla
