St John of God Foundation is deeply grateful for WHITEARCH’s ongoing commitment to the Gifts of Hope program.
Since 2022, the real estate company has generously donated 3.5% of every commission earned to Gifts of Hope. These contributions provide financial support to patients facing the often overwhelming costs associated with cancer treatment.
Ashby Farrell, born at St John of God Subiaco Hospital and raised in Perth, has deep connections to the local community. Since launching WHITEARCH in December 2021, Ashby’s passion for giving back has been shaped by his early involvement in community sports, coaching, and volunteering with local clubs.
Ashby’s commitment to supporting Gifts of Hope stems from his personal experiences witnessing the profound financial challenges that families face when confronted with a cancer diagnosis.
“Sadly, I think everyone has been affected by cancer in some way,” Ashby explains. “I’ve got close friends, and parents of close friends, who have been directly affected by a cancer diagnosis. I see the toll it takes not only on the person who has been diagnosed but their loved ones as well.
“I often see people that are distressed and trying to sell their home because of the cost of their cancer treatment, or they’re struggling to buy a house because of the financial burden of their cancer treatment.
“Research and trying to find a cure is important, but the immediate financial pain that people go through in order to receive life-saving cancer treatment can be immense. To know that Gifts of Hope will financially help some patients and their families when they need it most is something I am very proud to be part of.”
